Uganda: Kasese Cholera Toll Hits Six

Kampala — One more person died of cholera at the Kasese town council health centre on Thursday.

Nobath Kambale's death at the cholera treatment centre brings the number of the dead to six since last month's outbreak of the epidemic.

The four-year-old died hours after admission. He was among four newly admitted cases.

Since the outbreak, at least 150 have been treated, according to records at Kilembe Hospital and the treatment centre.

However, 10 volunteers from St. John's Ambulance and the Red Cross on Wednesday threatened to abandon the treatment centre, saying authorities had neglected them.
