Harare — DELTA Beverages will tomorrow celebrate Castle Lager as "Africas finest beer" at the Harare Showgrounds Glamis Stadium.
The show, dubbed "The World of Castle", starts at 6pm and features musicians like songstress Betty Makaya, Nicholas "Madzibaba" Zacharia, Willom Tight and Dino Mudondo, among a host of others.
The show aims to position Castle as an internationally acclaimed and perfectly balanced quality lager that embodies the triumphs of the African spirit and at Glamis revellers will get a chance to learn something about how it is brewed.
Of course, the revellers will have the chance to enjoy one or two ice-cold ones.
Other activities lined up for the night include the Afri-Glo dance music and interactive games that are aimed at entertaining the fans as they celebrate Castle Lager.
The fans have an equal chance of winning in the games and they can win vouchers for Castle Lagers and many other prizes.
Delta Beverages brand manager Mr Amen Makonese promised a show to remember.
"People do not have to worry about catering services as we have a plenty on offer," Makonese said.
Of late Madzibaba has been doing his act away from town and this time he makes a comeback - what with the news that he will be playing cuts from his forthcoming album while Munongedzo is still hot.
Cuts such as Makereke, Mazano and the yesteryear hits Nhamo, Takafanana and the Chewa, Zomvelamvela are set to keep fans busy on the dance floor doing what they know best.
Makaya will be out to deliver the best from her debut album Ndichange Ndiripo which features the hit songs Ndakusuwa, Handikanganwi (Amai) and, of course, the title track.
Perhaps she will also take time to treat fans to the popular Kurwizi, a duet which she performed with Jamal.
It was Kurwizi that won her a lot of fans
Willom Tight and Dino Mudondo have proved to be one of the best combinations in the music industry. And it is not surprising that they always share the stage. Ndichakumirira, Makoikoi, Ndiri Pano and Nyoka Inyoka are some of the hits to expect from the two urban groovers.
Jazz artists Victor Kunonga and The Band Peace will share the stage with the soulful Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana at the Harare International School in Mt Pleasant tomorrow night.
Kunonga is doing well on the jazz scene with his first album titled Ndakanyengetedzwa (Such is Life) comprising the tracks Umazenza, Runyararo/Ukhuthula and the hit Mayidarireyi.
Hwamanda Dance Troupe will also be at the show which promises to offer the magic of afro-music and dance.
Elsewhere, long forgotten musician Progress Chipfumo, who has just released a new album, is staging two shows over the weekend.
He performs at Jumbo Mine in Mazowe tomorrow before making the short trip to Bindura on Saturday for another show at Bindura Council Beerhall.
After a long spell in the wilderness, Progress must be itching to prove that it he still has what it takes to justify a place on the music charts.
Meanwhile, Hear the Music, in conjunction with Hear the Word Ministries Creative Arts Department, will be hosting the Celebration Awards on Saturday at the Celebration Centre.
The awards ceremony, which starts at 6pm, will be a celebration of Zimbabwes gospel talent and recognising volunteers and professionals for their determined efforts in the arts.
The scope of artists and professionals included in the selection process covers individuals or groups involved in the annual Best Music compilation and the members of the Hear the Word Ministries Creative Arts Department.
Singers, musicians, dancers and technicians who make the artists shine are some of the people who are going to be honoured.
Urban grooves lovers should look forward to the Urban Grooves night tonight at Thamies Sports Diner.
Thursday nights are reserved for upcoming musicians and tonight it will feature the likes of Mafriq famed for the hit Ndokuudza Sei, which is currently the song of the moment.
Later on in the night, Maskiri will grace the show. He is expected to sing songs from his latest album titled Blue Movie, which like the previous one Muviri Wese is full of humour and controversy.
Big screen fans are in for a treat as a new movie, Around the World in 80 Days, is now showing at Rainbow Theatres.
Other hottest flicks to check out include Walking Tall, Against the Ropes and Out Of Time.
Showing at Ster-Kinekor are You Got Served, Spiderman, King Arthur, Raising Helen and Ella Enchanted.
