Lagos — FC Sochaux midfielder Wilson Oruma has suffered the recurrence of a knee injury and may miss the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup qualifier against Gabon on March 20.
The former captain of the Golden Eaglets who has maintained a superlative form in the French league has already been ruled out of the UEFA Cup round of 32 against Olympiakos later this month.
The 28-year-old player sustained meniscus damage to his right knee playing against AJ Auxerre in January, and although he subsequently returned to training, he suffered a relapse on Tuesday and was scheduled to undergo surgery yesterday.
Team doctor said that he would not be fit till after four weeks, meaning the former RC Lens player will sit out both matches against Olympiakos on February 17 and 24.
