Uije — At least three more people died Monday evening at the Provincial Hospital of northern Uíge, thus raising to 61 the victims of the mysterious symptomatic disease called "Gastric Haemorrhage".
Among the victims are a female nurse who was working in the laboratory of the hospital and two children, who present as symptoms high fever and vomits or blood diarrhoea.
Aiming at controlling the situation and avoid a possible contagion, the local health authorities recommended the hospital staff to be more protective, by using special overalls, masks and gloves.
On Monday, in Luanda, the director for programme of malaria of the National Department of Public Health, Filomeno Fortes, said that only after the analysis of the samples that were collected and sent to the laboratories that they might absolutely confirm or deny if there is in the country an outbreak of haemorrhagic fever, namely Ebola.
