Luanda — The National Assembly postponed for Friday the final voting of the Electoral draft Bill, initially scheduled for today, due to the divergences between the ruling MPLA and the opposition relating to the composition of the National Electoral Commission.
The announcement was made by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roberto de Almeida, just after the opening session, and after a two-hour waiting so that the leaders of the benches could reach a consensus.
"After concertation between the ruling MPLA parliamentary group and the opposition MPs, as there was no a consensus reached, it was noticed the necessity to consult the parties' leaders", said Roberto de Almeida, explaining that the opposition requested, however, the postponement of the session for Friday at 4pm.
The Electoral draft Bill is the only pending document of the Electoral Legislative Package, after the final approval, Thursday, of the draft Bills on Nationality, Political Parties, Electoral Registration, Electoral Observation and the Electoral Code of Conduct.
