As the nation approaches the D-day for elections 2005, the National Democratic Party of Liberia (NDPL) says it has planned to execute "program intended to unite partisans ahead of the start of the campaign schedule and the subsequent elections day."
Besides its unrelenting focus on the pending elections, the party would celebrate the 55th anniversary of its first Standard-bearer, the late President Samuel Kanyon Doe as well as a Home Coming Day Program on May 6, 2005.
A release signed by NDPL's press director, said the outdoor program would be characterized by a parade from the Forth Norris on Broad Street through the principal streets of Monrovia to the Monrovia City Hall for an indoor program.
"In this regard, the Steering Committee of the Birthday and Home Coming Day Program has called on all partisans, supporters, well-wishers and sympathizers of the first indigenous party in the 2nd Republic to mobilize for mass participation in the program, the release said.
