Harare — OVER 15 Gospel divas are set to grace this year's Mother's Day celebrations pencilled for this Saturday at the Water Whirld in Harare.
Dubbed "Gospel Divas In Concert", the show is set to commemorate the achievements of female gospel artistes and it features Zimbabwe's top gospel female musicians who will perform from 10am to 8pm.
The show's line up includes Amai Olivia Charamba, Amai Patai, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Joyce Simeti, Carol Mujokoro, Ivy Kombo, Ruth Mapfumo, Amanda Sagonda, Spiwe Chimuti and Mai Chibwape with Vabati VeVhangeri.
The line up also includes upcoming artists such as Auntie Betty Mutize, Mercy Mutsvene, Bethamy Sisters, Donna Chibaya, Judith Mveremachona, Sifelani Gomo and Agatha Murudzwa among others.
Mutize, who is new on the music scene, will take the opportunity to prove that although she is new, her act is certainly not.
Her music is infused with skillfully penned lyrics and danceable rhythms that will keep fans joyfully on their feet.
Simeti, who has recently released a six-track album titled Haakusiye Haakurase, will also take advantage of the show to give her fans a taste of some tracks from the album.
Hits from this album include Vechidiki and Kudenga Ariko among others.
Gweru-based queen of gospel who has taken the gospel arena by storm, Amai Patai, will without doubt thrill revellers and all mothers on this day with her dances and the hits Mazambara and Nguva Yakwana that have proved to be a favourite to many.
Amai Patai, together with her husband, have wowed music enthusiasts at most national events that include galas.
Together with Leeroy Mutalika, their percussionist who thrilled and surprised many people at the Mzee Bira in Masvingo last year by playing percussions for almost all gospel artists, Amai Patai has the potential to steal the show.
The show is set to commemorate the love and care that mothers have shown us since birth.
