Zimbabwe: New Voices Grace Music Scene

Harare — NEW voices continue to appear on the music scene with the likes of Prince Ussi, Number One, Daddy Crissy, Tavonga Squilla and footballer-cum-musician Lazarus Muhoni of Black Rhinos Football Club releasing their first albums.

Lazarus Muhoni and CCAP Sakubva Voices - The Passion of Christ

Mutare-based CCAP Sakubva Voices and soccer player Lazarus Muhoni, have released an eight-track album The Passion of Christ. Chautah is a Chewa song that is all about God's power. The song praises God as the leader of all things on earth.

Kudzoka Kwangu is another hit that talks of a sinner's repentance and the subsequent reconciliation with God. Hakuna Zita and Potuluka are some of the songs on the album.

Prince Ussi with Springs Crew - Ngoma Yepasi

This is a six-track sungura album that is set to propel the group to greater heights.

The album opens with Tichadaidzwa followed by Zvichauya and Shungu Dzangu.

The other tracks are Regai Nditaure, Chinzou Nzou and a remix version Zvichauya. For sungura lovers, this one will keep you on the dance floor. All tracks were composed and produced by Prince Ussi.

Ngoma Yepasi was recorded at Hi-Density Studios and is marketed and distributed by Gramma Records.

Tavonga Squilla - Ndini Here

A completely new rap vocalist on the urban grooves charts who has the potential of scaling higher with this debut album.

The six-track album carries the title track Ndini Here and Ita Uzive that features Noxa.

Other songs are Loice, Haisi Nyore, Ndofara and a radio version of Loice.

All the songs that are social commentaries were composed by Squilla and produced by Webster at Log-a-rhythm Studios. The album is marketed and distributed by Corner Studios.

Number 1 - Number One

This is a new group that comprises Trinta of Honey Vibes, Willox (Alexio Kawara) of the Machikichori fame, Picnic and producer Mac Dee that has come up with an eight-track album.

Number One kicks off with Wandinodisa, which was composed by Mac Dee and is a love ballad that has the power to steal the hearts of many with its lyrics.

Willox composed Paraffin and Handinyengerere. The other tracks are Tinofara by Picnic, Trinta's Dunya Dunya, Mac Dee's Danana and Muroora Wenyu as well as Hope by Victor.

Produced by Philimon Gezi (of Connected Studios), who produced the Machikichori compilation, this album is likely to be a chart topper.

Daddy Crissy - Permanent Home

A new gospel album for all gospel lovers that features Noel Zembe and Trevor Hall.

The track Rwendo Rweupenyu features Trevor Hall and it talks about life on this earth.

Other tracks are Ndinemi, Nzira Yakamanikana, Handirege, Neupenyu, Mwoyo Wakanaka and Zvooma.

The title track Permanent Home features Noel Zembe.
