Lagos — A world leader in IT training and the first ranked training institution by revenue in the US in the period 1999 to 2001, New Horizons, has made Ikeja the first point of knowledge impartation in the country. Three more centres are expected to follow, as commercial considerations would dictate.
In Lagos where he addressed a press briefing, the Senior Regional Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Wim Blinkhof said the Company would be adopting a comprehensive marketing strategy for the Nigerian market.
According to Blinkhof, the company which he declared is the world largest independent IT and Business skill training institution with over 23 years in business and 312 training centres in 56 countries around the world, would in Nigeria and they have always done in other places, give students more than they ask for.
New Horizons with 2,400 instructors, N2,100 classrooms and the same number of sales people, has since entering the IT training market achieved numerous milestones and has also been at the forefront of IT training.
Independent research revealed that participant in New Horizons training showed an average 38 percent performance improvement, directly attributable and isolated to New Horizon's training within eight weeks of completing training. 70 percent of participant were able to apply new Horizons training within eight weeks while another 97 percent were able to utilize or plan to utilize the knowledge and skill gained through New Horizons training on the job.
Research further shows that participants note that there is 60 percent increase in skill knowledge upon their leaving the training. New Horizons training yield a 4:1 benefits-to-cost ratio, relative to the predicted increase in performance.

Blinkhof who said the organisation has a conducive learning environment also disclosed that there are plans to establish a 24-hour lab training for the benefit of students.
The General Manager of the centre in ikeja Mr. Rangasamy Kannan said the centre guarantees high success rate and that is why New Horizon is more competitive than the competitors.
According to him, big corporate bodies spend money to train their staff abroad but even at that they don't get what they want.
Asked whether the cost would be something that everyone would be able to afford, he said, "We have competitive pricing. Pricing depends on what the customer wants, the volume and the like."
He also observed that unlike other training institutions, New Horizons id focussed on training. They nothing less.
On why it took New Horizon so long to arrive Nigeria, although it has establish presence in nine countries in Africa, Blinkhof said "Good things take long in coming."
