Teachers have been warned against discriminating the HIV infected students while at school. The call was made by the Country Director of Association Francois Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB), Mr. William Kibalya at the celebrations to mark the International World AIDS orphans Day on May 10.
This was the first time Uganda was marking this day and the national celebrations were organized by AFXB and held at Semuto playground in Luweero district. AFXB is an international NGO founded in Switzerland in 1989 that started its operations in Uganda in 1990. Kibalya said his staff had visited some institutions where the teachers joined students in stigmatising those affected and infected by AIDS.
