Luanda — Norway oil company Norsk Hidro owns a package of investments in the areas of hydro-electric energy plus aluminium production in Angola, its Deputy Director, Lukoki Sebastiao, announced.
He was speaking alongside the seminar "Angola/Norway, a Partnership for Future" started Tuesday here, and added the firm is ending a study, meant to propose to the Angolan Government a package of investments in the mentioned areas.
Meanwhile, investments for alumimiun production demands a deep study on energetic availabilities plus bauxite reserves (raw material for its production).
Commenting on hydro-electric energy production, he only made an explaination on the African continent potentialities, estimated at 1,000 tetra watts per hour. Despite this potential, he said, only seven per cent are explored.
Lukoki Sebastaio said there already exist various projects for development of electric sector in Africa, both at Western, Central and Southern levels of the continent, adding that these projects will spur the development of the sector.
Norsk Hidro operates in Angola in the oil field.
