"Just like us here, winning is a way of life in Globacom. As sponsors of the national teams we are very proud of your achievements at the championship. And for your efforts, Globacom is giving each player half a million Naira. And in addition to a beautiful Nokia 6600 each of you will enjoy a N120, 000 free air time per year," Jamal announced amidst ovation from those present.

The Globacom COO revealed the passion for football that exists at the telecommunication outfit. "You won't believe that we spend between 20 and 30 percent of our time discussing how to help develop the game of football in the country."

Sports Minister Col. Musa Mohammed, who flew into Lagos specifically for the event, thanked Globacom for the donation.

NFA Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima while also thanking Globacom pledged the determination of the football house to continue to improve the game in the country.

He said he has complied with the yearning of Nigerians to move Samson Siasia to the senior team to assist Augustine Eguavoen.

"Samson Siasia and Daniel Amokachi are to assist Eguavoen in the remaining World Cup matches."

Galadima insisted that there was still hope for Nigeria making it to Germany next year.

"Our journey to Germany is still on course. Though it is going to be difficult, it is not impossible. It is not beyond us," concluded the NFA chairman.
