Nigeria: Catholic Church Ordains Female Lay Ministers

Abuja — Twelve women were among the 78 Catholic faithfuls inducted as Lay Ministers by the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja.

Commissioning the ministers, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, Rev John Onaiyakan, charged them to evangelise and spread the word of God to christians and non-christians alike, especially people living in rural areas.
