President Olusegun Obasanjo arrived Trinidad and Tobago over the weekend on a three-day official visit to the Caribbean country.
Obasanjo was received on arrival at the airport in Port of Spain by the Prime Minister, Mr Patrick Manning and later inspected a guard of honour.
During the visit, Obasanjo will address a joint session of the Trinidad and Tobago parliaments.
He will also deliver a special address at the annual dinner of the Association of Empowerment of African People.
Obasanjo who is accompanied on the visit by the Cross River state governor, Mr Donald Duke and Culture and Tourism Minister, will also attend a Pan African cultural extravaganza and the emancipation day celebrations.
The president is expected to hold bilateral talks with his host, President Maxwell Richards and address a joint conference on Tuesday before leaving for Jamaica on a day's visit.
Tourism development is expected to take centre stage during the talks.
