Nigeria: 35 Drown in Niger River Boat Mishap

Awka — About 35 persons got drowned in the Ogbaru end of the popular Niger River in Anambra State when the boat in which they were traveling early Wednesday morning to Onitsha capsized at Umunankwo in the area.

Riverine communities in the Ogbaru Council Area of the state predominantly engage in agricultural and fish farming.
