Botswana: Maxy Shines At Culture Spears Launch

Traditional group - Culture Spears launched their latest album, Korone, over the weekend at Mogo Hotel, in Mogoditshane. The group, which is already making a mark in the music scene with their famed Mmadikokwana hit track, were the main attraction at the show, which featured about 20 other artistes.

Despite the show being well-organised, most of the artistes gave lukewarm performances, However local diva Olebile "Maxy" Sedumedi, proved - once again - why she is amongst the country's most popular musicians. Her performance at the launch laid to rest controversy over who is the voice behind the hit song, Hare ha lebitla, which was featured in the late South African music diva Brenda Fassie's last album.

The local star, who is currently based in South Africa under Chicco Twala's music stable, could not resist enjoying 'her copyright'. When she took over the microphone, Maxy set the stage alight with Hare ha lebitla and despite her past repeated denials that she is not the voice on the track, her carbon copy melody betrayed her, and the crowd went berserk at her electrifying melody.
