The new Talking Drum Sudio programme, Passerelle (?Bridge?), made its debut in Cote d'Ivoire this week. Passerelle focuses on inter-ethnic alliances and the usage of traditional conflict resolution methods to achieve social harmony.
Through the promotion of these inter-ethnic alliances, SFCG is underscoring and building on the capacities that exist for non-violent resolution and conflict management as well as adding value via SFCG?s expertise in conflict transformation methods. TDS has also developed a series of short drama skits entitled Wura Wura Tuko.
These popular 5-minute dramatic spots have been broadcast on stations within the SFCG network and on ONUCI FM. Developed in collaboration with OCHA, these skits focus on the role individuals can play in building peace.
With each skit taking place inside a taxi, contemporary situations are analyzed and commentary is provided through a ?common ground? perspective, demonstrating that contentious problems can be examined in ways that inform and entertain while promoting the search for cooperative solutions.
Main Dans la Main (?Hand in Hand?) began broadcast ing in September in collaboration with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) .
The 30-minute weekly programme revolves around subjects of humanitarian action and social cohesion, aiming to inform the population on the conflicts in their region and the efforts being undertaken towards restoring social unity.
