Zambia: Mwondela Scoops Miss Zicas Crown

Lusaka — It came as a surprise, said newly-crowned Miss ZICAS Sombo Mwondela following her victory at Polo Grill last Friday night.

Thrilled with the win, Sombo, who outclassed nine other contestants to grab the award, said it was a revealing experience to be crowned Miss ZICAS 2005.

"It is really a wonderful moment for me. Winning an award comes with its surprises. I am very happy to have won this one," she said.

The 19-year-old college girl said the Miss ZICAS crown is a stepping stone to her ambitions of venturing into professional modeling.

"I think this has opened a number of doors for me. It is an opportunity for me to explore my skills," she said.

Sombo added that although Miss ZICAS was her second beauty title, it was a treasure worth guarding jealously.

She described her decision to take part in the event as a bold undertaking.

Sombo promised to work hard and carry out responsibilities that go with the crown.

With Ozzy The General and new kid on the block, Choklet whose So Chabe hit leaves many dancing at hand to churn their works, there were no dull moments in every arena-save for minor setbacks.
