Sierra Leone: Celtel Saves Citizen Radio

Freetown — Celtel cellular company has donated a 9 KVA diesel generator to Radio Citizen FM 103.7, a release from the radio station Wednesday states.

The release stated that the station has just moved to its newly constructed four-room studio on Thunder Hill, Kissy Mess Mess but the station was having problems with broadcast schedules because of electricity supply problems.

David Tam-Baryoh, Director of Radio Citizen says, "Celtel has been answering to its social corporate responsibilities in helping health and educational institutions in the country. But a gift of this nature to this radio station is a gift to some 700,000 listeners from Port Loko, Lungi, Lunsar and the entire eastern part of the city Freetown."
