Liberia: Nigerian Contingent Set for Medal

In a bid to motivate men and women serving in the United Nations Mission in Liberia, the Nigerian Battalion 6, 7, and Signal 2 currently serving in the country will this Saturday be proud recipients of medals in Monrovia.

A release said the medal presentation is in accordance with UN standing operating procedure for officers and soldiers serving under the auspices of UNMIL.

The release further said that the medals would be presented to the soldiers after completing their mandatory 90 days of successful services in the UN mission in Liberia, which qualified them for the honor.

The Medal parade, which is slated for Saturday, December 10,2005 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium will be graced by the United Nations Special Representative Ambassador Alan Doss.
