Kenya: KRA's Tax Rule Rejected

Nairobi — Two manufacturers of spirits in western Kenya are locked in a tug of war with the Kenya Revenue Authority following new rules that the businesses say could kill their profits.

The Kenya Revenue Authority has asked Spectre International and Agro-Chemical and Food Company Ltd, to pay taxes upfront for all spirits meant for the local market and export before the goods leave the factory.
