Uganda: Lukyamuzi Urges Parties to Field Single Candidate

Kampala — THE President General of the Conservative Party, Ken Lukyamuzi, has written to opposition presidential candidates asking them to form a coalition to defeat the incumbent NRM party, writes Maurice Okore.

"I write in the spirit of the G6 fraternity to persuade you to endeavour to talk to one another with the aim of coming to a compromise over who would be our collective torch bearer in beating President Museveni," Lukyamuzi recently said.

"This all along has been our goal. We must have abandoned it unceremoniously. It is, however, not too late to agree on a common candidate for as long as an agreement is realised so as to concretise our social contract on who should be in the next government," he said.
