Angola: President Concerned About Soccer Team's Attack Sector

Luanda — The President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, manifested some preoccupation with the national soccer team's attack sector, since the squad is preparing for the African Cup of Nations that will take place from 20 January to 10 February 2006, in Egypt.

The information was given by the team coach, Oliveira Gonçalves, at the end of the 40-minute audience granted to him by the Head of State, at the Presidential Palace.

"The President is satisfied with the two simultaneous qualifications, but a bit sceptical about the attack sector that in his point of view scores few goals", added the coach, recognizing that there were few goals during the qualification campaign due to the lack of time for adequate preparation.

Oliveira Gonçalves stressed that the reality now is different, since the preparation time is longer.

"During the two training sessions in which the president participated, at Coqueiros stadium, I was not present, and now he explained to me what he saw and gave also a lot of suggestions, so that we can have a campaign with success", he emphasised.

In those sessions, the Head of State worked especially with players of the attack sector such as Love Kabungula, Johnson Makaba and Zé Kalanga.

He trained crossing and shots to the net of the goal-keeper João Ricardo.
