Kigali — Lieutenant Colonel (rtd) John Gashugi, who was, until recently, the most
senior officer among Rwandan military dissidents in Kampala, Uganda, has
returned to Kigali after two years, The New Times has learnt.
Gashugi, 49, who fled to Uganda in 2003 after his retirement from the
army and announced that he was going to wage a war against what he called
the dictatorial regime in Kigali returned early this month and is reluctant
to say the cause of his escape, reliable sources, said.
