Rwanda: Japan Cancels Us$12m Debt

Kigali — The Japan Government has cancelled a US $ 12.65 million bilateral debt owed to them by Rwanda, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs Rose Mary Museminari, said Thursday January 26.

"We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japanese Ambassador in respect to debt cancellation and future bilateral cooperation between the two countries," Museminari told journalists shortly after the Japanese diplomats' meeting with President Paul Kagame at the President's Office.
