Nairobi — A looming shortage of sugar in the global market could cause turmoil in local pricing of the commodity, experts warn.

F. O. Licht, a London-based international sugar market monitor's latest report, indicates that the world is slowly creeping into a shortage period following crop failure and a drop in productivity in key producer countries.
