Johannesburg — RESIDENTS of Khutsong, part of the Merafong municipality that has
been transferred from Gauteng to North West against its will, yesterday
heeded the call to boycott the local election as fewer than 100 people
out of 34000 cast their vote there yesterday.
A holiday atmosphere prevailed around the central Khutsong voting
station as residents played soccer and other games instead of voting.
