The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding - The Gambia (Wanep - The Gambia) joins civil society organizations and other institutions around the world to commemorate March 8, the International Women's Day.

The organizers urged everybody to join the global campaign to reduce the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons. They said there will be a special focus on the worrying issue of women and small arms.

According to organizers, Wanep -The Gambia, in partnership with IOGT-Basse and under the aegis of the consortium CECI-Oxfam, will launch its sensitization programme on the dangers of the proliferation, spread and misuse of small arms and light weapons in Koina, Upper River Division (URD) on 13-18 March.
