Lagos — The Nigerian table tennis team opened the ongoing Commonwealth Games on an impressive note by defeating Maldives and Mauritius 3-0 each.
"That was an incredibly good start for the team. It is still early in the day to celebrate but a good way to begin," said Banji Oladapo, a member of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation and Secretary-General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
"Although it is just the first round but I am impressed. With determination and team spirit, I believe they will be able to do well," he added.
