Kampala — THE Judiciary and media freedom in Uganda were in 2005 under more severe threat than ever, a new human rights report has said.
The 97-page Human Rights Status Report 2005 launched yesterday by
the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative (FHRI) also strongly
criticised the security agencies' continued use of torture and illegal
detention facilities (safe houses) as a method of "imposing their will
on citizens."
