Liberia: PRODEMP Reacts to Media Reports

"The Flag Bearer of the Progressive Democratic Party of Liberia (PRODEMP) categorically denies frowning on the Human Rights Community of Liberia for their objection to the confirmation of the associate Justice designate, Mr. Kabinah Ja'neh as reported in Vol. 7 No. 138, Friday, March 10, 2006 edition of The Analyst Newspaper page 8 published by one Mike Jabateh captioned: "Sekou Conneh Frowns on Human Rights Community" and Vol. 3, No. 22, Wednesday, March 22, 2006 Edition of The Informer captioned: "Rebel Solidarity or National Interest? Sekou Conneh Pleas for Ja'neh." Respectively," a press release issued under the signatures of the Party's Secretary General Jackie Smith, Acting National Chairman Garba Williams and the Standard Bearer Sekou D. Conneh has said.

"The Party and Standard Bearer dismiss media report of any press conference or interview held at its party headquarters on Mr. Ja'neh's confirmation. We therefore publicly disassociate ourselves from these publications and assertions as contained therein," the release quotes the PRODEM leaders.
