Angola: Prime Ministers of Angola And Portugal Return to Luanda

Luanda — The Prime Ministers of Angola and Portugal, Fernando Dias dos Santos e José Sócrates, respectively, returned to Luanda on Thursday evening, after carrying out a few-hour visit to the south-western Benguela Province, where they checked some socio-economic infrastructures.

On their arrival in Benguela, the two delegations went to Lobito municipality, where they visited the Sécil-Lobito cement factory and a training centre located in Catumbela commune.

The delegations also checked the extension and repair works of the Lobito-Benguela road, estimated at 19 million euros, being carried out by the Portuguese firm Mota Engil.

The Angolan delegation included the ministers of Foreign Affairs, João Miranda, Public Works, Higino Carneiro, Urbanisation and Environment, Sita José, among other government officials.

José Sócrates, who is in Angola since last Tuesday for a four-day working visit, is leading a delegation of about 70 Portuguese business people who have been studying the opportunities of investment and partnerships with Angolan companies.
