Luanda — The Fifth Portuguese Speaking Countries Parliamentary Forum (FPLP), whose opening session was scheduled for this Friday at 12 noon, in Luanda, was transferred to Saturday at 10.30 am, in this city.
On a note, released Thursday night here, the event's Preparatory Commission presents technical constraints as the reason for this postponement.
This meeting, inform the organisers, will essentially analyse a proposal to the Heads of State and Government for the creation of an Assembly, an organ that would be part of the CPLP (Portuguese Speaking Countries Community), with the objective to boost this community, at the level of the international relations and in the various world arenas.
This forum is also to launch the basis for the institutionalisation of a parliamentary women network and another one turned to the fight against HIV/Aids in the Portuguese speaking countries.
Other themes on agenda include the creation of an Executive Secretariat, the discussion of the Status of the CPLP citizens, as well as the promotion of the Portuguese language and co-operation among the FPLP parliamentarians.
At this meeting, Angola is to assume the rotational presidency of the FPLP, currently with Brazil.
