Kampala — THE army has killed five LRA rebels and unearthed 146 tins containing 109,500 bullets in southern Sudan and Gulu district.
Northern regional army spokesman Lt. Chris Magezi on Tuesday said UPDF troops consisting mainly of former LRA fighters, attacked the LRA rebels at Bin-Rwot in southern Sudan.
He said in a related incident, the UPDF 49 Battalion shot dead three LRA fighters in their hideout in Cwero near Aswa River in Aswa county, Gulu district on Tuesday morning.
Magezi added that two other LRA fighters were killed during a brief gunfire exchange in Atiak sub-county, Gulu district.
