Nairobi — Dairy processors in East and Southern Africa are seeking ways to slash their countries' huge import bills.
"We need improved and harmonised policies to increase production and boost our competitiveness against imports," said Frederick Osore, executive director of the Eastern and Southern African Dairy Association. Intra-regional trade barriers and high marketing costs, he said, are hampering the growth of the region's dairy industry.
