Liberia: Ivorian Crisis Worries Ellen

Monrovia — President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has underscored the necessity to intensify efforts to guarantee security in all parts of the West African state of La Cote d'Ivoire, including the Western region that borders Liberia.

Addressing an array of foreign ministers of member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Monrovia yesterday, President Sirleaf emphasized that "it is necessary to intensify these efforts to guarantee security in all parts of the country, especially the Western region which, 'as you all will appreciate', is of particular concern to us because it borders Liberia."
