PRESIDENT of the European-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and industry, (ENCCI), Mr Jean-Marie Coulbary , has described Nigeria as a good place to do business.
"There are good people here. With the democratic government in place, sanity has returned to the barest minimum. A lot of Europeans are interested in the market which is largest in the African continent. We will work with Nigerian players . I am for African market. We will register office in Nigeria. Every state in Nigeria has potential to develop one thing," he stated.
Coulbary who is currently on the board of several companies including Akwa - Ibom Agro ind.Ltd, East West Communications, European Enterprises for Africa, All African.com, TourismAfrica, Southern Investments, among others, affirmed " I will bridge the gap between Nigeria and Europe."
Commenting on the forthcoming third economic forum on Africa billed to take place next month in Geneva, Switzerland , Coulbary, noted that the summit, with the theme 'Today's Nigeria' is expected to attract no fewer than 500 stakeholders within Europe and the rest of the Africa countries. It will among other things, discuss raw materials, petroleum, industry, tourism, agriculture, among others.
With the analysis of current trends and business opportunities, he stated, the conference is also expected to meet expectations of both the investors and the participants as economic strength of Nigeria in Africa, and the world, including the needs of different sectors of the economy.
Accordingly, he said that for the western partners looking for opportunities in Africa, especially Nigeria, the economic forum will enable them to explore new business opportunities thereby building a dynamic force in favor of strong business ties with today's Nigeria by creating efficient networking and co-operation with the 25 European Chambers of Commerce, adding that Nigeria is the destination of most of the western blocks, especially the European countries because of its investments potentials.
He informed that important Pan-African delegation composed of Ministers, CEOs of both private and public sectors, political and economic representatives from several States in Nigeria invited by ENCCI are expected to participate in the forum said to chart a new course for the continent.
