Luanda — Retired Angolan bishop of the United Methodist Church, Emilio de Carvalho left the country this Wednesday for Zimbabwe in order to participate in the special session of the African Central Conference of this religion, from May 27 to 29.
According to that religious entity, the conference will elect a new bishop who will replace the late Ndurencimpa, of the Annual Eastern Conference, who passed away died in 2005 due to illness.
The election will take place next Saturday, but the number of candidates competing for the post has not been revealed.
The Central Conference of Africa of the United Methodist Church comprises of bishops from Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa.
Angolan bishop Jose Kipungo chairs the referred conference and his the chairperson of the group of bishops of the Central Conference.
