Angola: Petro Wins Basketball Championship After Six Years

Luanda — Petro de Luanda is the new Angolan basketball champion after winning Friday in Luanda Interclube by 76-57, Angop witnessed. With this win, Petro Atletico unseats 1º de Agosto that won the championship over the last six seasons.

Petro's latest victory was in 1999, under coach, Vlademiro Romero, who died in a car accident the same year.

Although there are still two rounds to go, the champion remains steady, favoured by two defeats of its main opponent, 1º de Agosto that beat ASA (100-71) on the same day.
