Nigeria: Country to Hand Over Bakassi

Lagos — Nigeria yesterday agreed to hand over the oil-rich Bakassi peninsula to Cameroon in a deal brokered by the United Nations (UN) to resolve a tense dispute.

UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan hosted the talks in New York, United States the third high-level meeting since The Hague upheld Cameroonian ownership in 2002.
