Kenya Utility Launches SMS Bills

Nairobi — Kenyan citizens would be able to access bills via SMS, said the Kenya Power and Lighting Company.

MD of KPLC, Zachary Ayieko, said this feature would help reduce costs to customer while reducing congestion.

KPLC would also set to deal with the backlog by installing 150 000 connections every year, said Ayieko who believes that plans to interconnect with Ethiopia and Tanzania would help with increased demand for power in Kenya.
