Johannesburg — The R15m clubhouse of Le Domaine in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, has been completed.
CLUB de Vie (which mean club of life), the R15m clubhouse of Le Domaine, an estate for active over-50's in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, has been completed and is meeting the promise of a unique lifestyle experience.
The clubhouse is the pride of Le Domaine and offers a wide range of facilities, conveniences and luxury recreational options all designed with the estate's active philosophy in mind.
The estate's newsletter, the French Connection, states that the clubhouse is increasingly being frequented by residents and potential buyers who visit in pursuit of a lifestyle where they can live and not just exist. This is a place where people are finding activities to rejuvenate them and fill their time within the safe boundaries of the estate.
The clubhouse incorporates a wellness centre with a gymnasium, a 14m indoor heated swimming pool, health and beauty therapy, hairdresser, games area, restaurant providing fine dining next to the fireplace or on the veranda, a pub with big screen, movie theatre, contemporary coffee shop, book store, library and convenience store as well as arts and crafts rooms.
Regular weekly activities include aqua aerobics in the indoor swimming pool, early morning walking sessions and exercises classes, ballroom dancing, belly dancing, line dancing, bible study, Sunday evening service, social bridge and duplicate bridge, classical music, quilting, social arts and craft, and games. All this is in addition to the health talks coffee morning and outings.
Each weekend Le Domaine invites the public to visit the club and enjoy the relaxed environment, view the indigenous landscaped grounds with ponds trickling from one to the next, and streams and wetlands with abundant birdlife. Another highlight for the estate is the complementary tea and scones and live music to be enjoyed on the clubhouse veranda.
Marketed by Wakefields Estate Agents, all the northern villages at Le Domaine are sold out and Village Burgundy in the southern section has been launched. The units in this village will be the last that have striking water features as a frontage.
The launch of Village Burgundy follows the launch of Village Piccardi and Village Maine late last year. All the villages in the northern section are sold.
"Sales in the southern villages are buoyant and have exceeded targets in the past three months," says Jenny Aitken, Wakefields' manager at Le Domaine.
Units in Village Piccardi are priced from R907600, Village Maine from R1,216m and Village Burgundy from R1,664m.
Le Domaine is pioneering the concept of active adult living because 50-somethings are in great health and want to stay that way. Therefore it is being chosen by energetic people who enjoy a high standard of living, outdoor pursuits and vibrant social interaction.
