Ghana: Mercy Ships Bring Hope And Healing

Accra — In 1978, Don and Deyon Stephans, the founders of Mercy Ships searched for a vessel to transform into a hospital ship to serve the world's poor. After surveying many ships, the Victoria ship was chosen as the most suitable for the purpose. This was then transformed into the hospital ship Anastasis.

Mercy Ships was thus launched to pursue the example of Jesus Christ, to bring hope and healing to the poor; mobilizing people and resources to heal the word's poor.
