Nigeria: Madaki - Omoluwa Has Not Forgotten His Roots

First captain of IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja and ex-military administrator John Madaki is one of the men behind the success story of what is today refereed to as one of the best golf clubs in Africa. Australian born golf instructor Gary Pollard describes the club as a wonderful golf club only comparable to some of the best in the world. Other golfers who have had the opportunity to play at other golf clubs around the world share Pollard's view.

Madaki a golfer of good repute was one of the dignitaries who graced the third edition of the Pinnacle Pro-Am Golf Championship which took place two weeks ago at the sprawling IBB Golf and Country Club. Amiable Madaki lauded the efforts of personalities like Uche Ukpono, Olusola Adekanola and Lucky Omoluwa whom he said have spent their monies not only in sponsoring golf tournaments across the country but have invested in some professional players who are presently provely that the monies invested in them was a not waste.

He was particularly impressed with the contribution of Omoluwa to the development of golf in the country. He traced Omoluwa's history from his caddie days to the pro ranks to the successful business man that he is today. What actually impressed the ex-IBB captain was the fact that Omoluwa did not forget his roots like most people would after making money. "Lucky Omoluwa over the years have proven that he is one man who will never forget where he came from. This tournament is one competition that professional golfers look forward to every year. This gain saying that Omoluwa has really imparted the lives of Nigerian golfers", he said.
