Mogadishu — The Islamic Courts in Mogadishu have applauded the recent resignation of some government ministers as prominent cabinet member joins those resigned.
Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, chief of Supreme Islamic Council said that he is appreciated with the steps taken by the cabinet members.
"This is great step forward and we call everybody in the government to step aside" Sheik Aweys said
"They felt how badly the prime minister behaves and that is what caused the ministers to resign" he added.
Sheik Aweys also termed the federal institution to be some thing unfair for Somali people.
"It is not the correct cabinet that fits Somali people so, they have taken the correct decision" Sheik Aweys said
"We know that top government figures are leading bad future but we call every honest cabinet member to follow the steps of resigned colleagues" he added.
"Every government member is welcome to join the Islamists to participate rebuilding peace in Somalia, sheik Aweys said.
The statement comes amid 11 Somali Cabinet members left their posts for the past 24 hours including prominent minister for fishing and Sea Resources Hasasan Abshir Farah, a close relative of President Abdulahi Yusuf.
"We left the cabinet because the prime minister violated the rights we had to share consultation" Hassan Abshir Farah said.
"We have seen the government ignored processing reconciliation with the Islamic Courts then we have resigned, that is all" he added.
Hassan Abshir also said that Prime Minister Gedi has taken the decision to delay participating peace talks with the Islamists in Khartoum, while he failed to consult with other cabinet members.
