Arusha — The term 'umoja' is a Swahili word that is very much used in Tanzania and Kenya. It is the word that reflects the Tanzanian and Kenyan view of a community.
From the Tanzanian and Kenyan point of view the 'I' cannot achieve anything without the 'we'. According to Tanzanians and Kenyans, if the 'I' remains isolated without the 'we' this leads to what is called the 'prison of privacy'.
