Mosbacher to Address Conference on African Infrastructure Opportunities

Washington, DC — Robert Mosbacher, Jr., President and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), will address the Corporate Council on Africa's first U.S.-Africa Infrastructure Conference, intended to showcase for prospective American and African business partners the numerous opportunities which exist in infrastructure development across Africa.

The conference will focus on key African growth sectors, including water, energy, transportation and information and communication technology, and bring together ministers of planning and finance from several African countries, as well as infrastructure experts and business leaders from both the United States and Africa. Over its 35-year history, OPIC has provided nearly $2 billion in financing and political risk insurance to infrastructure projects throughout Africa.

OPIC projects have also generated $69 billion in U.S. exports and supported more than 264,000 American jobs.
