The Reverend Lovelace Tetteh, Pastor of Word of Life Christian Centre in Ho has called on Churches to join forces in prayer to reduce the rampant road accidents in the country.
He said most accidents in the country are spiritual in nature and needed a stronger spiritual power to counter them.
Rev. Tetteh made the call at a thanksgiving service to climax the youth week celebration of the "Road Safety and Youth Development Club" in Ho.
He said public education was important, but "purposeful prayer" was needed to "overpower any gallon planted in vehicles to suck blood".
Rev. Tetteh said many accidents happened in the spirit realm before manifesting in the physical world.
He stated that reckless driving and drinking before driving were all spiritual battles, which needed to be fought by Christians.
"We Christians therefore need to stand in to stop all satanic influences on our road users to keep the roads safe," Rev. Tetteh said.
Mr. Emmanuel Agbele, Executive Member of the club noted that currently Ghana is third after South Africa and Nigeria in road accidents in Africa.
He said the situation was frightening therefore the need for concerted effort from all to fight the carnage on Ghana's roads.
Mr. Agbele observed that some accidents were difficult to understand and expressed the hope that "with Christ in the boat, we can smile at the storm".
