Eritrea: President Holds Talks With Djiboutian Defense Minister

Massawa — President Isaias Afwerki today held talks in Massawa with the Djiboutian government delegation headed by the Defense Minister Ougure Kifle Ahmed and General Zekaria Sheik Ibrahim, a senior government official at the Djiboutian Defense Ministry.

At the meeting, Mr. Ougure Ahmed delivered a brotherly greeting from President Ismail Omar Guelle to President Isaias, during which both sides held in-depth discussion on the strengthening of current relations and its progress.

Regarding relations between the Defense Forces of both countries, President Isaias noted that close relations in work cooperations and sustaining peace and security in the region between the two military forces has a major role.

Noting that national truce among Somali brothers is vital to peace and stability in the region, the two sides asserted that both Eritrea and Djibouti have common understanding, stand and viewpoint on the Somali issue.

President Isaias also sent a message of greeting to President Ismail Omar Guelle via the high-level delegation.
