Nigeria: Asari-Dokubo Seeks Enforcement of His Rights

Abuja — The Leader of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, standing trial for the breach of peace in the Niger Delta area yesterday filed an application at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking leave of the court to enforce its Fundamental Human Rights.

In an application filed by his lawyer, Festus Keyamo, the embattled suspect asked for an order of the court to declare that his re-arrest by the state security service from the custody of the police at Force C.I.D annexe, Area 10, Abuja where he was kept on the order of the court for a fresh offence yet to be disclosed was unconstitutional.
